Reviews
tripadvisorThis place is perfect if you love sketchy neighbors, dirty walkways and sleeping with roaches. YES SLEEPING WITH THEM ACTUALLY IN YOUR BED! This place is the lowest of the low, I had to clean my room myself and the rag/rags were black! Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Not even a homeless person. ROACH MOTEL.
MoreLovely clean friendly Hotel. Comfy bed in a clean room with everything that you needed. Breakfast was lovely grest ingredients and choice and set us up for the day. Also right by tram and bus stop so great for going into Blackpool. Will be staying again when in that area
MoreParking can be an issue, rooms are dated, bugs found, door does not seal so bugs and air flow freely go in and out, bathroom screen ripped, low pressure in shower, shower temperatures fluctuate. Linens stained with random sized pillows. I would not stay here again. Only good thing going for it is location.
MoreThe room here was terrible. It was smaller than the inside cabin on a cruise ship. Only room for one bed table, no electrical outlet near the table, so the clock was not plugged in, no lamp on the bed table (so had to get out of bed to turn off the light), no closet, no suitcase stand, two chairs but no table, furniture would be rejected by Goodwill or Salvation Army, no carpets (so floor was cold and no muffling of sound from noisy people upstairs), speaker on TV so poor that the sound was muffled and dialog could not be understood, no towel racks in the bathroom, no kleenex, no place in bathroom to put toiletry kit, bar of soap was extra tiny (I have never seen one so small, I've seen bigger postage stamps) no breakfast, parking lot did not have enough spaces for cars for all the rooms, so had to park on street, parking lot so small that I had to back out, many scratches on the guard rail from other guests who had difficulty backing straight out. Cost was $105 for what in my judgement was a $40 room.
MoreAs a superhost for Airbnb I feel compelled to write something about my recent experience at the Rodeway Inn. Firstly, it’s painted with fairly new bright paint. I love the vibe from the outside, reminded me of the kind of place often used in Hollywood movies where detectives go to question witnesses. I probably wouldn’t have bothered to write this review if I had paid $40 for a night, but with tax it cost me $140. So here we go.We arrived at the Rodeway Inn at about 9:00 PM. The young man at the check-in counter was very polite and checked us in with a smile. However, the first clue this hotel was a bad idea was that he was behind a thick glass screen, the kind some high security banks now instal for a good reason. Next I moved my car from temporary parking to the back of the hotel as directed. But the on-site hotel parking was inadequate. So I drove down the adjacent residential side street and there were signs literally every 15-20ft along the road displaying “tow away residence only parking” signs. I drove back to the front desk to ask where to park. It was at that point that a police cruiser parked directly behind me and asked me why I was there. When I walked towards their vehicle to answer, they ordered me to stand back. They continued to question me and eventually let me go. I’m pretty sure that the police have this placed staked-out. Second ominous sign we were in the wrong place.Next we go to our room, number 214, directly above the check-in office. It was reached by walking next to an adjacent darkened alley that could easily have been used in a Hollywood horror movie, you know the kind where someone brings their victims to get sliced-up. We continue to climb the stairs trying to avoid touching the hand rails coated in 20 layers of old chipped paint. As we opened the door to the room we found it to be dismal. First impression was that the room decor was extremely dated, maybe early 70s era furniture. The front door was dented and had exposed screw holes. Two king sized beds with the original factory plastic bags covering the foundations were crammed into the area where one could fit best. The stained carpeted floors seemed to be poorly vacuumed with white powder visible in some places and one worn patch was held together with duct tape. The furniture and sink surfaces were adequately clean. Wallpaper was peeling in one place. Black mold was clearly visible around the bathtub seal, the shower head was covered in various colorful molds, and the toilet had a heavily rusted exposed stud holding it down. All that being said, I found my bed was actually quite comfortable, but we did find a small blood stain on one of the sheets. Light snacks were provided in the check-in room in the morning that consisted of toast, fake orange juice and coffee. One last comment. They made sure we returned the plastic room access cards, I’m pretty sure they intended to re-use them.
