Once home to music legend Elvis Presley, Graceland epitomizes the flamboyant style that the unforgettable seventies packed in. Life came a full circle for the King of Rock 'n' Roll when he purchased this Colonial Revival house in Memphis from Stephen Toof, a way of honoring the city that fed his musical ambitions and set him on his way to becoming a rising star. Rumoured to be the second most-visited house in the United States, Graceland is preserved exactly as it was when Elvis lived here. Elvis Presley bought this 13.8 acre (5.6 hectares) estate in 1957 and spent a large part of his life expanding and improving the opulent property. On the boulevard named after the legend himself, a sleek entertainment complex and adjoining visitors centre feed Elvis' fans still-extant frenzy through a wealth of displays and exhibits that revolve around the musician's life. The Elvis Entertainer Career Museum highlights the main aspects of his singing career, and display his most iconic sartorial collections, while the Automobile Museum showcases the stunning fleet of cars that Elvis rode in, from the Cadillac Eldorado to the Stutz Blackhawk. On August 16, the anniversary of Elvis' death, a candlelight vigil draws worldwide fans to this exceptional monument.

tripadvisorWhat a wonderful experience. This was a look into the lives of an entire family. You can tell this display was put together with love. After this tour listening to his music hold a lot more meaning. I definitely recommend it.
MoreDisneyworld for presley fans.Beautifully curated. Dont get to go upstairs ... disappointing.Museum, cars, clothes ... all good.Smokehouse had a queue 40 deep so went to the diner instead.Very disappounting as they had no sandwiches at lunchtime.
MoreAs an Elvis fan all of my life this was a must see for me and it didn’t disappoint. We got there at 9am and toured the house straight away. It’s quite small really (I knew this) but in its day it would have been considered a mansion. I loved it! It gives you a really good insight to Elvis. Then we moved over to the Elvis village as I called it. There are about 5 buildings (I think) that housed memorabilia from his car, motor bikes, him in the army and him at the movies. At the end was (only a fraction I got told) of his jump suits that he wore on stage. I was blown away by them. And then we got to see his 2 planes which was a nice ending. They have a lot of memorabilia here and we were there until 5pm. My husband and I both said we could have stayed longer.
MoreMy wife and a friend and I toured Graceland and booked directly with the operator. We stayed at Graceland Guesthouse which is basically across the street. There was a free shuttle from the guesthouse to Graceland which I would recommend as the road in between the two properties is very busy with lots of construction. The shuttle runs very frequently. We stepped off the shuttle and were met by guide who gave general update on what to expect and how visit would go. We did not pay for a guided tour which worked for us. There were lots of people inside sharing lots of information. Visitors cannot go to the upstairs part of home (Elvis bedroom, dressing room etc) which was obviously fine. There is plenty to see on main floor and in basement and surrounding out buildings and grounds. The museum was great, staggering amount of things related to Elvis's life. All in all the tour was well worth it and is recommended.
MoreI have been a fan of Elvis all my life, so this was a tremendous treat for me. I stayed at Graceland Suites which was pricey but worth it , they take care of everything. The tour of the house ,the cars his outfits for the stage were very special. My son brought me for my birthday he had a great time. Also you can go to a concert at Elvis Presley Sound Stage, which we did ,Amy Grant was playing. They usually have some entertainment at the bar and lounge, also a full movie theatre where a different Elvis movie will be playing every night. All n all we had a wonderful time. May go again in a few years... Memphis it self is not well kept, but everyone was friendly . Graceland Suites was very nice , and very clean. Beautiful outdoor pool that is seasonal.
