tripadvisorIt would have been a higher score except upon checking out, Jessica at the front desk was very snarky towards me as I was leaving. And while waiting for my car, she chastised the valet when he asked her a question. I don't know how such a rude person is working the front desk.
MoreI am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Hampton Inn Wilmington. Upon check-in, I was provided a room key and went up to my room, only to find the door wide open. While the bed was made, the room was far from clean—there was visible debris on the carpet, floor, and in the bathroom, along with food crumbs scattered across the desk, dresser, and table.I went down to the front desk to report the issue and had to wait while housekeeping came up to touch up the room. While the front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful, it’s clear the housekeeping department is severely underperforming. Common area vacuuming is clearly being neglected, and the rooms have a sour smell. To make matters worse, I was told they were putting in a new TV, but no new TV was installed. When I looked underneath the TV mount, it was completely full of crumbs and food debris. As a Diamond member, this is probably the dirtiest room I have stayed in in years. I definitely will not be staying at this hotel again and will be contacting the Diamond Desk tomorrow.
MoreRon was very nice giving us information about the things we were gonna do in our trip!
MoreOverall, good experience. Served the purpose of being close to all the restaurants and bars we wanted to visit.Staff was friendly. Rooms were fine. A little outdated, but nothing major. Couple arguing in the hallway at 2 AM,But it is downtown Wilmington on a Saturday night. Had a little hiccup with the valet parking, but the gentleman was quick to resolve it.A little pricey at $300 a night. But would consider staying again.
MoreThe staff were especially nice. We had a great chat with Ron at the valet stand. He has lots of stories from his time working with film crews and we discovered mutual acquaintances. It was nice to be back.
