This shop may surprise you! There is a huge array of different forms of art from regional artists. It feels like someplace you would find in a much larger city. There are gorgeous paintings at all levels of affordability, exquisite jewelry, pottery and all sorts of interesting stuff. Handmade candles, toiletries, notecards... it would take several visits to get a good grasp of the inventory. The employees are super friendly. I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in the area, you never know what you will find.

Main & Maxwell is an art gallery that is housed in an old bank building. The owners have done a great job of creating a beautiful space while retaining the charm of the old building and its history. There are many lovely items for sale by local artisans and the prices appear reasonable for the quality of work. Main & Maxwell also offers classes on a regular basis on all types of art such as basket weaving, jewelry, painting, etc. as well as artist receptions. They are a wonderful addition to the charming uptown area and worth a look on a regular basis as the inventory and the display changes fairly often.
