Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park State Park

When you first lay eyes on this swimming hole, the name Garden of Eden becomes clear, for its pristine nature gives it an almost ethereal quality. Explore the beautiful trail as it leads down to this hidden gem located within the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Swim around in the cool clear water on a warm summer day, sunbathe along the sandy shores, and have a great time surrounded by nature. However, don't dive into the water, for the water level is somewhat shallow.

I visited recently with my 84 year old mother after a day at Santa Cruz. It is an easy drive and you feel worlds away from the beach. Mom walks with a cane but could manage the self-guided nature walk by the parking lot. It is enough to immerse yourself in the woods and see some amazing redwoods without have by to do a strenuous hike. Also great for strollers.

Our visit to the park was relaxing. The park is beautiful and very well tended. Volunteers and employees were all helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. We enjoyed our visit to see the gorgeous Pacific Vosst Redwoods.

Beautiful park. We came straight here after San Francisco and it was a welcome breath of fresh air. We're not city people and this is exactly what was needed after the city stop. We just did the Grove loop. Its 0.8m and should take around ½ hour, but we spend 2 hours wandering easily. Plenty of squirrels and we saw 2 deer too! Lovely staff/wardens, easy parking.

We were in Santa Cruz and wanted to do something the next day. We saw this was close by and off we went! It was easy to access and was easy to explore! We took two short hikes here and they we both easy and beautiful! Go early in the morning as the parking lot fills up quickly and it can get crowded.
