This hotel needs to be updated. The furnishings are dirty and old. The carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years. This is NOT a 4 star hotel.

This mall is a downer. Many vacant stores inside, very limited choices in tiny food court. Tables in food dining area dirty, not cleaned, trash cans overflowing.

We used to visit this mall all the time while I was in college. It was such a nice mall. It has been at least 10 years...IF not longer since I had been here. We were looking for a spot to do Santa photos this year during the pandemic. We chose the Plymouth Meeting Mall since it was within an hour drive time of our home & was one of the few that advertised that Santa and the kids did NOT have to wear a MASK DURING the actual photo. It did state that Santa may be socially distanced OR behind Plexi-Glass AND that masks had to be worn up to/after the actual photo. Santa photos required advanced timed reservations. Once at the Mall, we tried to find the entrance to the actual Mall. Several stores seemed to have popped up adjacent to the mall, sharing an exterior wall with the Mall, but not having an actual entryway through them into the mall! Finally, we found an entrance tucked into a corner and made our way into the actual Mall. We ended up being right in front of the Santa set in front of Dick's (lower level) & Burlington (upper level). Right away, I noticed ALL of the EMPTY store front in the mall. I did notice a Bath & Body across from the Santa set as well on the lower level while we checked in at Santa. We had like 10 minutes til our actual photo session so we decided to walk down towards Boscov's. As we walked we noticed most of the store front on BOTH the upper and lower levels were completely empty. I did see a Claire's (that was closed) and a T-Mobile store on the lower level. There was also a Perfume Island, but it also was closed. Only thing I saw open on the lower level was a salon, a Foot Locker and Boscov's. As we neared the Boscov's, we saw the Legoland Discovery Center. This seemed really attractive..like a Lego Amusement Park for the kids. It was open for business, but seemed pretty pricey. In front of the Boscov's we found the iconic carousel. I remembered this from my college years and was hoping the kids could ride it during our visit. I was relieved to see that it was still there and OPEN! Rides on the carousel were $3 per person and CASH ONLY. We did let the kids ride. They were the only children on the entire carousel while we were there. Staff socially distanced and were witnessed sanitizing the horses after our children departed the ride! It felt super safe during the pandemic. It is a beautiful carousel. The horses have actual hair for tails. There are unique seats in addition to the carousel horses, which are nice for elderly and adult couples. Next to the carousel is a SMALL food court that contained like 3 restaurants: Subway, Sarku Japan and Main Street Pizza. I did notice a Dairy Queen on the upper level above Subway in addition to a Hallmark store. I believe there was also a Chick-Fil-A on the second level as well, but I it was closed too. I'm not sure WHY it was closed since we were there around 11am on a Saturday, unless it went out of business. In the center of the mall there was a Jump Star Bungee Jump, but it looked like it was CLOSED down too. At the opposite end of the Mall, there are a few ride on toys, a photo booth, a ducky grab-it machine and a change machine. There is one fountain in the mall on the lower level in front of the Dick's. It was not amazing, but still a really nice feature. Also, really interesting are all the palm trees planted IN the mall floors. Mall has escalators by Dicks and stairs by Boscov's. Lighting was good for a mall. It appeared clean. Overall, I was really disappointed in the ACTUAL interior Mall as a shopping mall. It was mostly empty with the exception of the flagship stores, a few eateries and a handful of shops. The main attraction would be the carousel and Legoland Discovery. Yes, there are several stores that popped up outside the mall in addition to a Whole Foods. There is an AMC movie theater adjacent to the mall. There is also a gym and some shops adjacent, but again these stores are NOT IN the actual MALL! I do NOT like how stores popped up around the mall in new space instead of utilizing existing empty space within the mall. he interior of the mall being EMPTY actually worked to our advantage since it felt super safe for Santa photos during the pandemic. However, it was still sad to see the mall turning into a ghost town while stores are being allowed to populate space around or adjacent to the mall. Bottom Line: The kids enjoyed our visit due to the carousel and Santa alone. I would recommend for the carousel, to shop Boscovs, visit Legoland OR see Santa.

Nice to see a mall that was close to dead making a comeback with shopping and entertainment venues. Great places to eat make it an enjoyable stop.

You could spend an entire day here with children. From the carousel, Legoland etc. There is a pottery store that lets kids make their own pottery. This really is a clean and well run mall with plenty of security and a variety of food choices as well.
