I wouldn't call this a destination in itself unless you are planning to go to the zoo within this park, but it is a large park with a lot of space to walk a dog. It's well kept and feels safe, and you can watch kids at the skateboard park, tennis players, or tons of other locals at all the different entertainment areas and sports fields. If you need a quick break to walk the dog, or if you're a local looking for a park to visit to play some games, this would be great. If you're looking for an exciting place to go as a tourist, though, I wouldn't go any further than the zoo here.

We joined family at the park in the season of autumn. Leaves turning on the trees were beautiful. The park is very spacious. The boys loved the skateboard area. We used one of the shelters for our family gathering. The little zoo at the park is very fun for the kids. It’s a lovely park.

There have to be at least a half dozen playground/ picnic areas in this park that you can choose from. They have bathrooms, shade, and there is the zoo nearby. I take my kids here in the summer for lunch and some play time, and it is always great!

What can be done about the tobacco use at the skatepark? There are signs posted that it’s a tobacco free area. There are always children of all ages around. The fun is always ruined by Groups of teenagers vaping and smoking around the tables. Some just smoking as they skate. If you want to smoke. You do you. I have no judgment but if I want to bring my small children to a public park, I shouldn’t be concerned about the smoke clouds they have to try to avoid? I’m new here, what’s the process? Does anyone actually do anything about it?

This is a very nice park with something for everyone. We just needed to get out of the car and walk for a while and this was a great place to do it. The park is located on the eastern side of the river below the Rose Hill cemetery. We accessed it from South Boulevard. The park itself has sports fields, amusement rides for the kids, a playground, tennis courts, a ferris wheel, picnic areas and benches. It is a great place for families with children. We walked and them opted to sit and watch all the activity in the park. The zoo is located in the park but we did not have the time to visit it. A great oasis in the city of Idaho Falls for rest and relaxation.
