tripadvisorI spent a few days last year at Miraval in Tucson and fell in love with the mind/body experience that made me feel physically good, and mentally refreshed and at peace.I was searching for a similar experience closer to home and found this treasure!! Surya yoga is a wonderful studio in a church building, with masterful, kind and compassionate instructors who know their stuff! There are a number of class options, but I prefer the gentle yoga and meditation, with sound healing. I have gotten so much out of this practice, that I never expected ! It has welcomed and encouraged me. The group that attend classes are respectful---not competitive--and encouraging and understanding that we are all in different places in our practice. Here is the cool thing, and the reason I have included the review on Trip Advisor; You can take a single class or sign up for a package of 5, if you are on vacation here. You can sign up online. I cannot recommend it enough. I would love to find a source like this, if I were on vacation!! They also have guided hikes and retreats, but the classes themselves, taught by instructors who have thousands of hours of teaching, are a balm to the soul. I hope this review helps someone find the peace and freedom that this practice brings to so many. What a perfect way to make your stay in Phoenix truly memorable!
MoreOne of the things that made my last holiday in Pula unforgetable and unique was getting to know the Surya Yoga Studio, its classes, massages and its teachers. I am doing Yoga now for several years and got to know a lot of yoga classes and teachers worldwide. The class with Lucia from Surya Yoga was so professional, spiritual and special. She is such a great and passionate teacher. It was a real great experience. I can´t wait to go back again. The studio, its spirit and teachers are amazing. surya Yoga is a real pearl in Pula. Katy
MoreAfter getting hooked on Yoga it turns into a quest to find a Yoga Studio with a class that fits my schedule, in my location, fitting my level of intensity (gentle, challenging, rejuvenating). I have a gym membership that offers some classes. I feel out of step most of the time, when I can make a class. Sunday afternoon I looked online and found Surya Yoga, 2 class late afternoon, a beginning followed by a Zin Yoga. New students were given the first class free. Lots of summer specials on the sight, even kids classes. Very easy to register. I took both classes, 2 different instructors. Both were really good. Would highly recommend the studio for anyone looking for a drop-in or regular schedule. When I am in Phoenix I'm going to be scheduling more classes.
