We visited specifically for the opening of two shows about space, one of fiber art and one of photography. Both were well curated and included many impressive works. Beyond that, the medium-sized museum includes several galleries featuring works of mixed media from multiple time frames that are thoughtfully presented. The 5th floor lobby features broad natural views of the Mississippi River. The museum shop is on the ground floor, along with a theater.

The LSU Museum of Art is based in a highrise where also the theater is, with some good views. They have a mixed collection but with some quite good works of art. Attractively displayed as well. Good museum shop on the ground floor. Very pleasant to visit on a hot summer day.

Morning off of work and wanted to see the current exhibitions. There are a pottery and a black artist exhibitions. Easy to locate inside building on corner with nearby street or garage parking. Museum is located on 5th floor (there are other near by places to visit, eat and shop). Really nice view of the Mississippi River as you walk into museum. Smaller museum with numerous rooms but really enjoyed each room. Took my time and enjoyed every minute.

There was quite a variety of art found at the museum. It had the local flavor we had hoped to see. There were a lot of stories to be told around the works that they had in place. If you watch, you can get discount admissions. We purchased a Groupon and it was well worth the price of admission.

We love museums but this was not our favorite. A variety of collections...Latino exhibit, Asian art, portrait gallery and a local mixed media artist ( my favorite). The particular exhibits not appealing to me, but great value for your dollar. Great views of Mississippi from Shaw center. Tsunami restaurant upstairs was a dining experience!
