tripadvisorCapitol Hill is located close to everything you could want to see. They staff is next level courteous and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a robe in the room!
MoreGreat location and very professional pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms are large and were very clean. We had a Junior Suite and it was like a nice apartment. Hotel is quiet and close to everything you want/need on Capitol Hill and just one block from the Metro. Have stayed a number of times at the Capitol Hill Hotel and will be back on our next visit.
MoreI had a very disappointing stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel and would not recommend it, especially for business travelers. The hotel offers only valet parking, which is extremely inconvenient when you're attending meetings and constantly coming and going. Finding alternative parking is nearly impossible, with residential permit restrictions throughout the surrounding neighborhood. I was fortunate to find street parking because of a holiday, but spent the night worrying about being ticketed or towed and had to wake up at 6:30 a.m. to move my car and check out earlier than planned. The hotel itself is also badly in need of renovation. The elevator carpets were filthy, the paintwork was poorly done, and the appliances were outdated. Upon arriving on my floor, I encountered three housekeeping employees loudly laughing and watching videos on speakerphone in the hallway. Not exactly a professional or relaxing atmosphere. To top it off, the complimentary breakfast was terrible. I didn't eat anything, grabbed a coffee, and left. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience. I certainly won't be returning.
MoreCapitol Hill Hotel is a gem! I was chatting with another guest and she said how it exceeded her expectations--when you book online, you never know, I agree! Location can't be beat, so close to the Library of Congress. Thoughtful room amenities--including robes, a fridge, a microwave, coffee set up. An older property for sure but beautifully renovated. Everyone was so friendly and nice. The included breakfast was an unexpected surprise as was the breakfast itself. It was over sterno but there were real scrambled eggs, with or without cheese, hash browns, and freshly made waffles, as well as all the other continental breakfast items. I will be back!
MoreLocation great, Rooms old but clean. Elevators went out while there and we were on the 4th floor. Very quiet and close to everything but service mediocre.
