We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2026. This hotel was part of a holiday package so we didn't pick this hotel ourselves. On arrival we entered the hotel which is very dark and gloomy. We were greeted by rhe receptionist who was very friendly. We were given the key card to our room on the 7th floor. We entered the room and it was clean. Quite small and really old fashioned. The light switches were awful to switch on. We arrived at 10pm so didn't venture out and headed straight to bed. We woken about 12 am to shouting in the street as there was a night club directly opposite. It didn't bother me at first as I thought an hour max and the noise would stop. How wrong I was. I went on till at least 4am. There was prostitutes everywhere. I know the hotel cant help the noise in the street however I think they should provide ear plugs as standard. We ventured out the next day however it is a rough area and there are loads of homeless people laying on the pavements. Out of this area its like a different world I,e beverly hills, santa Monica beach etc. There is a lovely patisserie just a couple of doors up from the hotel and we ate there and it was lovely. The air con in the room and the shower were really good. All in all I wouldnt recommend staying here or even in downtown LA. TiP video your room when you arrive and when you leave then you are guaranteed to receive your deposit back.

Good hostel but I am still waiting for my deposit to be paid back to me ‘ I left on the 11th of October and the receptionist person told I would have it back within 3 days

Stayed at this hotel for a surprise 30th birthday trip with my partner and it was amazing! Staff were all really friendly and helpful, especially Cedric who checked us in. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The style and atmosphere of the hotel is very cool and can be felt as soon as you walk into the reception. We would definitely return when we next visit LA!

Great front desk service and friendly staff. They were very helpful with any questions and made check in and out easy.

Wow I was blown away with the professionalism and courtesy of the staff at the Freehand. Particularly with one housekeeper. I think her name was Suhai. She would always greet me in the hallway. Also Liz at the front desk. She gave me some good recommendations on what to do and storaged my luggage after checking out. The rooftop had an amazing view. It sucked one day they closed early.
