tripadvisorWe hopped on sleigh with couple other families and took a few pics and few mins later it was over! If you are in local vicinity and looking to kill 20 mins. for $ 20 pp and jump on a sleigh okay, but if like most, this is a hike and long drive from civilization. We were so pumped to try something novel, however, literally, few minutes ride in the open space, and few minutes at a snails pace weaving through the wooded area. Totally disappointing. This place has SO much potential.... vast snowy covered fields, but they don't run the sleigh through them longer than a few minutes. Just as we got out into the open, everyone thought we would now pick the pace up a bit, but guide took horses right back the same short path we went on into the woods. Really wish they utilized the fields for what they are marketing as a scenic sleigh ride. In summary, go if its Convenient, otherwise skip the long drive and choose a destination for more bang for your buck.
MoreFirst I want to thank the folks at Go Sleigh for making my birthday (12/11/16) so wonderful. You are top notch people who are genuine & hard working. I was supposed to have my first sleigh ride that morning at Dan Patch Stables in Lake Geneva. After months and months to prepare for winter, when the snow arrived they CLOSED their doors sighting not being prepared. Reservation cancelled. You can imagine my disappointment. After a quick Google search my husband found Go Sleigh and they had an opening for the two of us, same day. Now granted our ride was shared, not private, the sleigh is designed so that all passengers are facing forward. You don't have to stare at strangers sitting across from you. There was room for 7 fully bundled up adults plus driver. The property stretches 10 acres including a 2 acre pond, woods, a reception house for warming up by a cozy fireplace, a lovely farm house and outbuildings for the horses, sheep and an adorable donkey who tried to steel the show when she showed up by the sleigh just prior to take off, like she wanted to come along. So enduring. The trip itself wound thru the property, much of it in the wooded area which was really neat, and lasted a good 30 mins...probably longer. I really didn't time it because I was enjoying the moment but I am positive I got a better value for my money at Go Sleigh than I would've received at Dan Patch. Upon our return, covered in an inch or more of fresh snow, we made our way to the sheltered reception area and with its wood burning stove AND fireplace we warmed up quickly and dried off our outerwear. We did not partake but there are small snacks, hot tea & hot chocolate available for a small fee. If you are looking for a terrific time, make the journey our to Go Sleigh!
