We love this little park in Leesburg. This was my great great grandfather’s property in 1843. He and his son arrived with land grants in hand as the first settlers in this area. The city even built a little log cabin to let visitors know what life was like back then. There are walking trails and a little dock onto lake Griffin. It’s a nice place to visit. Go fishing, have a picnic….

This is my family’s former home and land! As a little girl I spent a lot of time here, climbing trees, searching for treasures in the attic, and swimming in the pool. When my great Uncle died, he donated the house and land. I’m so glad I can still come back and see this beautiful place. The little red house was home to Red and Beck, long time workers for the Bourlays, who were almost as close as family. One of the wider trails is a road that Red plowed for my mom so she could ride her horse to school! I’m glad people enjoy coming here!

It was very nice until I crossed over to the side of the park that didn't have any kind of directions or trail markings. you can't download a map of the park that I could find so I got lost for about an hour and a half circling… Then came across a worker who was more concerned with my dog, (service animal) not being on a leash then he was to help me find my way out! He was very rude!!! Not impressed trails on that side have no marking or directions to find your way back out...

This little nature park needs maintenance. There is an area with benches to see the lake; but it is so overgrown you can’t see it. Nice. Peaceful walk, no wildlife or birds. I put mosquito spray and they still bit me through my pants and socks.
