tripadvisorOK - it's local theater, but it can be at a high standard. All My Sons was beautifully done. The Skin of Our Teeth was so bad it was all I could do not to leave the theater screaming DURING the performance, and while it is a difficult play, the direction/staging/casting made it pretty unbearable. So, be warned.
MoreAs a professional actor I have been fortunate enough to be cast in several of their shows and each time have been delighted by the caliber of actors I have had the oppotunity to work with, and by the thoughtful and smart direction of their artistic director Shauna Kanter. And I have been equally enthralled when being an audience member as well. The venue (the historic Byrdcliffe Theatre) is a unique, intimate space to see theatre. If you are in Woodstock, check them out!
MoreTruly beautiful art is hard to find in this world. The Last 2 summers I've been privileged to encounter it, in the beautiful majestic mountain setting of Woodstock, NY, at the newly renovated, air conditioned, historic, Byrdcliff Theatre. Here, I saw 2 professionally produced and brilliantly directed shows, END DAYS and OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD, a moving, eye opening and life affirming experience. Voice Theatre tells the truth and we all need that more than ever. They are truly a needed voice! I do hope if you are visiting Woodstock this Summer, you visit the theatre, the historic artist colony, and in July, attend their main stage production of Thornton Wilder's, THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH. I know I am.
MoreI've seen several productions over the years and they have all been top notch!Be sure to check them out if you are in town.
MoreThe performance was excellent with very talented actors. It was comfortable and being close to the stage gave you the feeling like you were on the stage with them! Highly recommend checking out if you are in the Woodstock area.
