Well I think the fact that it is closed now says it all. Nice concept but not executed well. Take it off your bucket list as it is just a big cement pit now. Will be interesting to see what goes in there next.

Didn't even know this place existed until we (3 teens and 2 adults) drove by- it didn't take much debate to decide to stop in! Seemed like the perfect thing to do on a play-it-by-ear Saturday. The concept is great. For $7 per person, you can fish in one of the two ponds for as long as you want all day. For your $7, you get a bucket, a bamboo fishing pole with fishing line tied to it and a little cup of cooked corn for bait. Whether you're going to be fishing or not, it's $7 per person just to come in. The lines aren't very long on the bamboo poles, so you'll essentially just have your hook dangling in the side of the pond. You can rent an actual fishing pole with a reel for $5 each... and you can buy live bait for $5 per cup. Not a lot, but it starts to add up. We were there for about an hour and never saw anyone catch anything - whether they had a real or bamboo pole, or corn or live bait. We were sitting next to a family that had been there for 3 hours and they hadn't seen anyone catch anything either. One of the guys working their said that they had just stocked each pond with 300 trout each two days prior, saying that it may just be too warm for them to be biting. I suppose I was kind of glad that we didn't catch one -- because if you DO catch a fish, you have to pay for that as well. No throwing back -- if you do, there's a fine. And since we were on our way to the beach for the afternoon, carrying a fish around wouldn't have been ideal anyhow! However, the kids did have fun and it was a different experience and everyone did have a good time :)
