tripadvisorI have worked with Jenn Z as my massage therapist in the spa at Omni La Costa since 2022. She is not only professional, but truly a master at her craft. She has helped me find relief from chronic neck and shoulder pain I experience from a high stress job. I highly recommend requesting her should you find yourself enjoying a spa day at Omni La Costa.
MoreHorrible experience and will never return. I took my mom to the spa for a special birthday and booked a treatment package. When I booked I was assured she would be treated special as it was her actual birthday, including mimosas. We arrived and there was absolutely no special birthday treatment. I had to pay to access the day pass just in order to get lunch with her. The treatments themselves were lovely but there was nothing at all done to make to day special. I would expect more for such an expensive day and mediocre facilities. When I booked I was also assured the birthday month promotion would apply to the purchase. There is nothing limiting the promotion online and was specially told this would apply. Upon paying, I was told it would not apply. This was not the day I signed up for and feel ripped off. I’ve never felt so nickel and dimed for minimal services. We will never return. Save your money and go elsewhere for less!!!
MoreSPA INJURY, My friend and I decided to start visiting some of our local spas in our area. La Casta Spa was second on our list of must visit. I received 50 min custom a deep tissue massage on 26th, June 2022 at the La Casta Spa. As the therapist walked me to the massage room she asked what pressure I preferred and I told her generally deep is fine and to focus on my back. She massaged my back with this pressure and it was fine. However, when she picked up my left arm and placed it behind my back proceeding to lift up my left scapula, digging her finger or knuckle deeply under the scapula and when released she proceeded to use her elbow, the pressure became intensely unbearable, at which time I alerted her of that and she eased up, however it was to late. The next day I was unable to hold my head up, I could not lift my left arm, unbearable aching, throbbing pain raiding from my neck to my shoulder, down my left arm. I have sever pain in my forearm, my fingers are numb and tingly. Something is seriously wrong with my arm, I went to the Urgent Care TWICE in one week because the pain was unbearable. I have seen a Chiropractor several times now. Due to the extent of the injury caused by the massage I decided to notify La Casta Spa to make them aware of my injury. I spoke to La Casta Spa Manager whom stated that she spoke to my therapist and then assured me that my therapist has been there for over 10 years without problems. She then told me that my massage was shortened because I was late “I was not late”. I suddenly realized that she was talking about my girlfriends massage, and therapist, not mine. When I told her I was not late and she was mistaken, that I received the full 50min massage and that it was my friend whom was late. She still stood by her statement, I thought was weird because she was referencing my girl friends therapist, not mine. I felt she was very dismissive of my concerns, not caring in the least to my injury. She said she would forward this over to compliance and that I would be receiving a call, that never happened. La Casta Spa MGR is the reason I am righting this review. Two weeks today and I am still dealing with nerve pain, aching, throbbing, pins needle in finger. The fact is, I received a massage that result in nerve injury from a poorly performed massage where too much pressure was applied. It is a sign that my massage therapist went too deeply and way too quickly into my muscle and surrounding tissue causing my nerve damage. Sadly, I am San Diego local and would not recommend supporting the La Casta Spa based on the way the management responded to my injury.
MoreWe stayed at Omni La Costa for 3nights. So while my husband golfed I got a massage. I was very happy with the lady who did the massage and the spa it's self. It was very relaxing. I loved the fact that they have their own pool area and a spa restaurant.
MoreI've been coming here for several years for work event that always takes place here. I've noticed year after year that the resort quality has been going downhill with little effort to renovate. The rooms at the hotel definitely need a major overhaul. I've started staying at the privately owned Condos for a better experience. Every year I do go to the spa and I will say that every year it gets worse. The locker rooms are pretty gross at this stage. The carpets are filthy. The locker doors are scratched and worn and have tape holding but numbers on. The furniture in the spot area is ripped and tattered. And the tile floors look like the grout has never been cleaned. Spa services here are quite expensive, on the level of a Four Seasons pricing but this facility does not compare whatsoever. The part that was the most shocking happened when I was checking out for my service. Because I was there with the large workgroup they had given us a small discount on the spa services which was nice. But I was informed that part of this agreement required that I pay a 30% mandatory gratuity charge. That is outrageous. If I want to give someone a gratuity it should be my decision and the amount should be up to me. They divvied this 30% up 22% going to the massage person and 8% going to the locker room attendants. The locker room attendants should not be getting a tip as far as I'm concerned. Someone walked me to a locker and showed me how is you open it. This is completely unnecessary to begin with and only delayed me getting to my locker. But this certainly was not worth a $16 tip, maybe $2 but the reality is this was not at all a needed part of the service and shouldn't be something I'm forced to pay for. I had a massage that cost $200 so 30% is an additional $60. I would never have given a tip anywhere close to that. You would have actually probably come out better paying full price for the massage and tipping what I wanted to. But I was told I didn't even have this choice. So this was ludicrous. I'll most likely skip my spa activities at this location going forward. It's just not worth the money that they charge for the low end service they provide.
