Moved from Mass 6 weeks ago and this is my 3rd time on the trial - both sides of 1488. It's wonderful. Most trails I have been on recently have been asphalt. Going back to nature is the best. The purpose for this review is to thank two young ladies! When I arrived back home I couldn't find my wallet. Of course, I couldn't say for sure I had brought it with me. Thinking about going back to the trail, to see if I could find it, but, of course, its too hot for me. I had resigned mysefl to calling my bank and credit card companies. Just then there was a knock on the door. These wonderful people had my wallet.I still had my Mass drivers license and asked them how they found me. They found a small note I wrote to myself with the new address. They would accept no money. I am so grateful. I can't tell you how thankful I am for their kindness. Hope you are reading this.

Nice place for nature hikes in this land locked urban forest. The main trails have a grid pattern which allows you to tailor the length of the walk. These dirt trails are flat with plenty of shade. The soil seems sandy, so even though it has rain recently, there was not a lot of mud accumulation, except for a few low points.

It was ok - if I lived near there I might visit just because it would get me away from all of those people and cars! But the day we visited it was EXTREMELY hot so we couldn't stay long at all. And, while I can understand why huge garbage containers would be a bad idea, it would be nice to have found a regular sized garbage can somewhere in the area. I had brought my dog for a walk and his resulting dog poop bag had to return with us in the car until we got to a gas station garbage can. Geez - it seems as if bringing your pet is encouraged but without a place to dispose of a poop bag, it's not very reasonable. Since I was only visiting the area, I probably won't ever go back - there are plenty of neighborhood trails that are more convenient and attractive places to walk. ALSO! finding the entrances and getting in and out was terrible - watch for signs and be alert for all that traffic in the area!!!

Absolutely amazing! But be careful with snakes if you trail into the woods. Other than that if you follow the regular and marked trail you should be fine for a beautiful and peaceful walk.

Nice place I wish they had bathrooms... like fishing here, more for the quietness. I do have a question though...do they stock any of these ponds with rainbow trout?
