tripadvisorWhat’s wrong with the beach? My family and I went today to spend the day on the beach which was literally covered in grass? It looked muddy and not inviting at all. We were extremely disappointed!Shops are expensive, £9 for 2 ice-creams I’ll stick with Blackpool!
MoreLord street has hardly any shops left. Met quite a few characters in some pubs. Was shocked at the amount of rubbish scattered around and bare grass at the waters edge. Made a few friends with the birds. Had a lovely relaxing time felt safer being with family. No flowers in the what used to be well kept gardens . Lots of nice restaurants to see enjoyed
MoreFirst gripe was parking very expensive for just 2 hours,we decided against this drove around getting desperate but came upon a small private carpark £3.00 all day.Not been to Southport for many years just thought see what it was like all I can say disappointing very dated looking for lunch few nice places ended up at the gallery/museum lovely lunch bit of a life saver, as all you see is cheap shoddy cafes, walking around the shops lord street used to be posh but time has not been good to it very sad, O by the way we did follow signs to park and ride and the found out it is no longer in use, what maybe they don't want visitors. well I will stick to Lytham free parking and lovely. cafesSad times.
MoreSouthport holds very special memories for me but last night next to Marine Drive it was horrific. Fast very noisy cars disturbing our nights sleep up to and way past 1am then stared again 7am. Where were the police? Spoilt our weekend completely due to sleep deprivation camp site lovely and clean.
MoreSouthport has always been an amazing place. What has happened Sefton council whats going on ? I was shocked yesterday neville st considering its a tourist st with arcades etc it looks a mess the Leo's bar has also etsy dumped outside matress etc looks awful.! So many shops gone The closure of the pier, the beach half covered in grass. What's happened to that seaside town such a shame. It has a beautiful lake a nice walk round, lovely parks Churchtown etc. Shame they are letting parts of it ruin the town.
