Step into the Museum Of Kinetic Art during Kinetic Saturdays, a thirty-year collection of found object mechanical sculptures made by sculptor, poet, performer Ned Schaper. This large fine art installation is an A.R.T. lab is built on the principles of Available Resource Technology. To encourage innovation, Schaper uses only available resources as the raw materials for his sculptures. The artist performs with and wears the sculptures throughout the evening as part of his Surrealistic Pop Science Theater. The theater's story takes place in the fantastical world of Beveldom, "a lost land of found objects" with host Mat Bevel, a large cast of characters played by Schaper and his kinetic puppets, and hundreds of parables and poems. In 2014, this kid-friendly exhibition broke all attendance records at the Tucson Museum of Art for its time period during the artist's solo retrospective.
