Wingfield Park Park

This beautiful outdoor amphitheater is situated along the Truckee River, just steps from the Raymond L. Smith Truckee River Walk. During the summer months, there are public concerts by the Reno Philharmonic, plus theater, ballet and music during the day and on evenings. The park also hosts children's programs and storytelling. The Great Basin Book Festival is a very popular event held annually in September. At Christmas, the area is decorated with Christmas figures and lights. It makes for a spectacular sight at night.

I do like this park very much because it surrounds the river, which is always pleasant to look at. You can stroll along the river, or make a picnic. It has an excellent in-town location and attracts people. Some good sculpture here as well.

I spent some time relaxing in the park on a warm day. Nice when it is warm, but when it is hot, not so good. The landscaping is lovely and and river is so pleasant and interesting to gaze at. Popular. Ignore the street people.

A gem of a park in the heart of Reno! A great place to gather and picnic, sunbathe on the rocks, or enjoy the incredibly cool (manmade) Truckee River Water/Kayaking Park. Lots of fun art and statues all throughout as well!

A good park that is part of the River Walk area with some good landscaping and pleasant trails for a stroll. Ignore the street people and enjoy one of the best things Reno has to offer.

Wingfield park is located near downtown Reno (just a few blocks from the casinos) and provides an escape from the casinos. The park has few amenities but does have walking paths along the river. Best bet is to check for local activities in the park as it is the location for many different art, dance and music performances during the summer. July is the best month with the annual Artown events all month.
