tripadvisorWhat a wonderful experience! The production value rivals much larger companies. The performers were all top notch. We saw the play at the Scottish Rite theater, not their regular location. The setting was perfect.
More“The Baby Monitor” was world-class “theatre in-the-round”, with a local Santa Fe feel. The experience was magnified by having the Playwright claim the Lead here, following impressive international performances. We’ve bought Flex Passes for the 2023 season.
MoreWe purchased online tickets the day of the show for Marjorie Prime. After dinner on town, we walked to the theatre, which is a bit hidden. GPS walked us there with no problem. It is a very small, old theatre with friendly staff with whom we chatted until we were allowed into the theatre. The lobby isn't one to be enjoyed with a cocktail, nothing like that here. The seating is comfortable and no bad viewing seats. The tickets are a bargain and seating is first come, first served. On the Friday night that we attended there was good attendance, but not sold out. This production was sparse in terms of costumes and settings, but we really enjoyed the performances, especially Marjorie. The intimate setting makes all the difference and we will be anxious to return.
MoreThe Santa Fe Playhouse is a great venue for local theatrical productions. It is spacious enough inside to get the job done, and still provides a very intimate setting. Every seat in the room feels close to there stage, and the acoustics are good. The welcome was warm from cast and productions staff and volunteers. The play we saw, Trevor, was interesting and entertaining (and less gruesome than the incident on which it was based), even if there were some production bugs that slightly distracted. We will return.
MoreSay Cabaret in 7/20, preview night as first time attenders. See it if you can. Excellent cast. Fun.Theatre is small, but comfortable. Good view of stage. Open seating. Free parking available in evening in court house lot. Highly recommend but depends on what's playing of course. We will look to attend on our next Santa Fe trip.
