Hotel Monteleone Hotel

This hotel is the oldest and largest hotel in the neighborhood. Four generations of the Monteleone family have served as directors of the hotel since its opening in 1886. Major renovations completed in 1996 have only added to the hotel's charm, and because of its size you can almost always get a room here. Although the hotel is large, the service is still very personal. Accommodations range from luxurious suites to comfortable family rooms. Famous residents included Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams and William Faulkner. Le Cafe restaurant is a favorite with New Orleans natives and even if you stay somewhere else, stop by to see the Carousel Bar. Hotel amenities include concierge services, room service, laundry service and a rooftop swimming pool.

I had no problems with this hotel until my credit charge was posted. At that time I noted my card had been over charged by more than $4500. Upon review of my bill, it was clear to see that a $20 charge had been incorrectly input as a $4020 charge, with the associated taxes. For the past three days I have called multiple times and been assured that someone would call me back, and people have told me that they see the error...but nobody I talk to seems to have the authority to fix the error. I have verified my phone number and email and been told that I would be called back and the issue resolved. But nobody ever calls back and the charges remain posted. While my visit to the hotel was lovely, this lack of resolution is disheartening and distressing. I am very disappointed that nobody seems to have any concern regarding fixing this large oversight in my bill. At this point, I definitely would not recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed there for 2 nights and it was really not worth the money. We paid 600$ a night and it was extremly loud as the windows didnt absorbe any noise from the street. Yes the hotel is old and proteced by the city if you wanna change something but do it from the inside. The restaurant was a big dissapointment as well. Nobody asked us about our stay didnt got the bill to check just the answer you‘ll received it via mail. I also asked when i get my deposit back from the restaurant but also no answer. The pool area was nice and its realy in the center but spend your money more wisley. We‘re really unsatisfied.

Our stay at the Hotel Monteleone Was definitely our best stay in the French Quarter yet. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and the hotel staff went above and beyond to see to it that all of our needs were anticipated and met. The location is ideal and you are not kept awake all night from the outside noise. It is a wonderful oasis in the middle of the Vieux Carré,

I was here 3 nights on a work trip. Very friendly staff greets you at this beautiful, classy old hotel. From the men at the front door to the staff behind the front desk to the concierge, I was treated like a special guest. The cleaning staff was also very friendly. My room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was a little small, but it was just me, so I was OK with it.I ate breakfast one morning at Criollo Restaurant. Delicious and filling, but expensive. Had a drink one night at the Carousel Bar in the hotel. Really cool, unique place with a rotating bar. Also a nice rooftop pool and bar. Great views. The valet parking is $56. Again, very friendly staff.I highly recommend Hotel Monteleone and will be staying here again!
