tripadvisorWe spent three nights there. The thermastat in the room didn't work, one night it never got above 63 degrees. The fan in the bathroom was really loud and couldn't be turned off. The wi-fi only worked about 50% of the time. The room was not cleaned the second day, and the carpet was stained. But the worst part was my interaction with a hotel staffer. The Inn does not have a guest ice maker, so you have to ask the desk clerk to get you ice. I went to the desk and the woman there wason the phone having a serious conversation. She did not look up, or acknowledge me in any way. After a minute I went over to the bar area, which is in the same room as the self serve coffeek and started putting ice in my bucket. The staffer ran over and started screaming at me that going behind the bar was a cancellation offense and that I had to pack my bags and leave immediately. I am 70 years old and have traveled the world and this was a first. There was no sign saying the bar was off limits, or a gate blocking access to the ice machine. I tried to reason with her and apologized, she treatened to call the police on me! For felony Ice Theft I guess. Eventually I just walked away from her as she kept yelling. Truly bizarre behavior. We informed the manager and they did not even give us a discount on the room (which cost $1300 for three nights including fees and taxes.) I would recommend you find a different hotel.
MoreWE had a lovely weekend at the Oakhurst Inn being looked after by the wonderful young staff. I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to the owner who didn't charge us for our last night when we had to leave suddenly that morning. We offered to pay, especially since we weren't able to give any notice but they refused. I doubt a chain hotel would have been this kind. Thank you again!Judy
MoreOakhurst Inn was cute, though the floors were a little creaky. The bartender was chill—I think he may have also been the valet. Haylie at the front desk was super nice. Overall, it was a great experience, though they could definitely use more staff.
MoreMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oakhurst Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Tyler and Antonio. We stayed in the main building above the reception and bar area which was a great location. We enjoyed the pool area immensely. The proximity to Grounds was also perfect. Hopefully not too many people discover Oakhurst so we can always get a room when we need one!
MoreLovely staff, free valet parking, the most comfortable bed!
