Hotel was okay. The room was awful. The thermostat did not work and the temperature was over 80 the entire time. Front desk was not helpful.
MoreThere is no other place quite like The Charles. It manages to blend hotel and home away from home with uncommon grace, and graciousness. Maybe because I spent such a momentous decade of my life at Harvard, and therefore might expect only a bittersweet return, I keep being happily astonished by the way The Charles welcomes me back, each and every time.
MoreThe rooms and general areas of this hotel are wonderfully appointed. Front desk service is good though with the occasional slip ups on requests we made. The real negative here was the lack of any sound insulation of the room door making any noise in the hallway completely audible in the room. This seems a surprising oversight given that this hotel has been clearly renovated. As a result we were woken up by multiple conversations in the hallway in the middle of the night
