Established on the campus of Michigan State University in 1872, W. J. Beal Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the country. The idea and initial plan for the garden was laid out by Professor William Beal, after whom the park is named. Today, the garden is host to thousands of species of native as well as exotic plant life. The garden has been a site for numerous plant based researches, and is a haven for botany students. Tours of the facility are available, and the garden can also be rented for weddings and private events. Check website for more.
