Overall, St. Pete has many wonderful museums, but in my humble opinion, The Dalí is not one of them. It is terribly overpriced for admission and special events, especially given the more reasonable pricing at the other world-class museums nearby. The staff is neither welcoming nor particularly helpful.Save your time and your money and check out St. Pete's other museums. You will find lots to explore and, as importantly, to marvel at. You will also have money left over for a nice lunch either at another museum nearby or at one of the many fine restaurants nearby.

Don't smite me, but I think Dali is a bit overrated. Which comes to a surprise to most of my contemporaries, but whatchagonnado? The museum itself is nicely arranged, displayed, curated, and with unique architecture. I booked tickets in advance, which I guess there's a lot of hoopla about online. I personally didn't see it as all that necessary, but I am glad I looked, as I learned that Thursdays are discounted after 5pm. It was busy, but not annoyingly so. I think the days were so hot that people couldn't even bear to leave their houses or swimming pools. They do have temporary exhibits that rotate, as well as the usual collection. There's a fair amount to see. One thing that I will vehemently speak against is this (and other) museums' obsession with incorporating smart phones into the visitor experience. The last thing we need is more zombies walking around with a phone in front of their face, experiencing some 'interactive' VR or listening to a narrator at full volume speak on the artwork you are pointing your phones at.Here's a fun activity: count the number of visitors that take a picture of the artwork and then walk away without ever looking directly at it. Live in the moment, peeps. Put the phones away.

The museum of art is fantastic, but seeing and hearing his story during the 36 minute Dome experience allowed you to see so much more about him. We sat in bean bags, (by choice), and just embraced the entire experience. I was told that they had over 90+ of his pieces on display to see, there is a small cafe for those interested, and a cash grab, as I refer to these quick sell souvenir shops. But this one does offer you to purchase copies of some of the pieces you will see. It was a full three hour experience that I highly suggest adding to your trip.

The Dalí Museum was such a cool and unique museum experience. As much as I love travelling and learning about history, I’ll admit that I’m usually not the biggest fan of most art museums. There’s just something about the work of Salvador Dalí that has always fascinated me.Getting to explore the museum and learn more about Dalí’s life and creative process was amazing. I saw several pieces that I wasn’t familiar with before, which made the visit even more worthwhile.The highlight, though, was definitely the Dalí Alive 360 Experience. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend adding it on. Seeing Dalí’s artwork come to life all around you in a fully immersive environment was incredibly trippy, entertaining, and educational. It gave me a whole new appreciation for his work and helped me understand the meaning behind many of his pieces.The gift shop was also fantastic. Lots of unique souvenirs, books, and art-inspired items that were actually interesting to browse through rather than your typical museum gift shop offerings.Whether you’re a huge art fan or someone like me who is a bit picky when it comes to art museums, this is absolutely worth a visit.

Beautiful new building. Small exhibit but covers multiple aspects of Dali’s life. You feel like you know him after visiting. The restaurant is great too. Get the cheese plate.
