Attended the Joss Stone concert. She was fantastic; however, even sitting 3 rows from the stage the sound was HORRIBLE! Many times the sound was so muffled that we couldn’t hear her talking or the words she was singing. Extremely disappointed in this venue. Tickets cost too much to get crappy sound quality.

I am adding my encouragement to managers of this regional venue to please listen to extensive criticism of the sound system. We are season ticket holders for Chrysler's Broadway series and attended Wicked this weekend. Outstanding show absolutely ruined by the inability to understand a single word of dialog. As soon as more than one performer sang or spoke, their dialog was totally unintelligible. What a disappointment for the audience, cast and crew who had to endure this embarrassment. I will personally reach out to those who book performances here to insist that the audio system be improved for any future bookings. I look forward to any response from the venue management here as well.

The sound at Chrysler Hall is absolutely horrible. Never again will I spend top dollar or even one minute of my time trying to enjoy something here. I've had awesome and bad seats for many events, from second row to balcony, and I can tell you the sound is better in the back of the balcony than anywhere else. Spent hundreds on multiple premium seats for Hamilton, Celtic Women, Les Mis... forget it. One person singing alone sounds great, but as soon as anyone else chimes in, you totally lose the other parts, and all you can hear is just a very small portion of what is happening on stage. It is so frustrating and infuriating... you KNOW it should be sounding differently... you can SEE the people singing and playing their hearts out, but you can only hear maybe two microphones. YES Chrysler Hall knows about it, and NO they are not doing one thing to fix it. And the shows keep coming anyway... WHY. Save your money and frustration, and travel somewhere else to see your Broadway productions and traveling shows. Chrysler Hall is not worth it.

This is the first time we have been to a performance at Chrysler Hall. It's about an hour from Williamsburg, not hard to find. Parking is limited so it pays to get there about an hour or more before the performance. Doors to the venue open an hour before. Doors to the seating open about a half hour, thought they opened a few minutes earlier. The handrail on the end seat on row Q was loose, some of the handrails on the stairs are loose. There is no middle aisle in orchestra so if you want an aisle seat you need to sit at the sides. If you are far back enough, you are under the box seats and can lose some sightline but it wasn't too bad for this musical. Acoustics were fine. We will try to see other performances here but the Hall needs some TLC.

I have seen a number of shows at this venue. They have all been great, especially CATS. Recently we attended Australian Pink Floyd. We sat basically in the middle of the orchestra section row F, seats 20,21. As soon at the music started I noticed something wrong. After the band got into their performance it became apparent the sound was messed up. The bass overpowered the rest of the sound to the point that when the kick drum or low bass guitar would sound, it would completely mask the rest of the sound. Hence the equalization was very off. I can best describe it as sitting at a stoplight with my windows rolled up and a car pulls up next to me with their windows rolled up playing rap through a massive stereo system. All that comes through is muddied bass. Initially I though it might be the band's sound man but during the intermission the same ballance existed during the background music. From where we sat, we could not discern the songs played and could hear only the low frequencies. I would hope in the future they would take more care in setting up their sound system. It ruined the experience of what should have been a great show, from the audience listening perspective. That being said, the band was fantastic and performed great. They likely bear no responsibility for the poor sound setup. I look forward to seeing Australian Pink Floyd in the future, just not in Chrysler Hall. I feel Chrysler Hall let me down and ruined what should have been a wonderful experience. Even if Chrysler Hall didn't have anything to do with the sound equipment, they are somewhat responsible for providing an appropriate venue for the audience which includes monitoring the quality of the sound. After all, it is their reputation on the line. Again, Australian Pink Floyd is a wonderful band as is evident from YouTube and other sources. It pains me to think that I would have enjoyed watching and listening to them on my video system more than a live performance at Chrysler Hall.
