Unlike most or all other local theaters in our area, this one used ticketmaster. It is a sure way to be over charged for a ticket. For the Sunday John Mulaney show I watched the front row seats go from about $350 when they first went on sale to $650 for several day, during which time no one bought any seats. Then gradually back to $350 when they were bought. Our seats several rows back went from $180 to probably double and ultimately to $144. So you have to play the game. Plus they take a huge fee. Other local theaters have their own ticket sales-it is much fairer with lower fees.Also, they check your bags multiple times and entry recently has been quite slow with long lines because they seem to be quite OCD about preventing some horrible incident. We couldn't even bring a little umbrella in. So considerably less well run and quite ready to gauge you if possible.

Just about a perfect concert venue - spectacular historic building that's been lovingly maintained, great acoustics and sightlines, superbly professional and pleasant staff & volunteers. A super-easy trip via Metro North, which stops literally a half-block away. GTLO was great here, eagerly awaiting Australian Pink Floyd in September

The ushers assigned to right orchestra were extremely RUDE & AGGRESSIVE during Thursday night November 2nd, 2023 Jethro Tull concert. I overheard an usher tell a woman to stop talking to her male companion in a VERY loud & nasty tone. And for the record, this couple were directly in front of me & were not disturbing anyone. I didn't mind them talking low to each other but was appalled at how the usher spoke to them. Also in the beginning of the show, the audience was told they were allowed to video during the last song. My friend began to video at that time & another usher told her to put that away right now!!! in the most rude & aggresive way. I WILL NEVER ATTEND ANYTHING AT THE CAPITOL THEATER AGAIN. Remember, you get more flies with honey than with vinegar!

Bought ticketmaster seats with row and seat numbersArrived and was told there weren't seats only SROGeneral admission pit was packed and hot. Asked manager what happened to our seats..gave a lame excuse about seat numbers were just for their reference.Never again..huge ripoff
