High school Graduation happened. Very hot (triple digits) while we were there. Lots of wind to boot. Hotel stay was great. Lots of room. Ok breakfast. Gym worked for me. Comfortable.

Chris Kyle, the American Sniper, born in Odessa, and they have created this memorial park, with fine statue an quotes on what it meant for Chris to fight for his country----and we should all be very grateful that he and many others did. Should be a must see stop if passing through area, or make it a definite must do trip, Chris is worth it.

The location of this memorial off a highway access road near office parks and a mall is initially puzzling. Then you realize it’s because it’s near the VA Hospital, and therefore quite a fitting location to honor Kyle, who was active in helping fellow veterans (and was killed by one he was trying to help). The Memorial itself focuses on veterans rather than Kyle’s prolific military exploits, although the statue certainly glorifies him. The Memorial is a touching reminder of his service and sacrifice and that of others like him.

This was special and this man deserves a memorial for him. He is a part of history that every child should learn about. He is a true hero. This memorial is well done and I think gives the respect He deserves.

In a town where there is seemingly nothing else to do this was a nice tribute to a fallen soldier. Beautifully commemorated and quite moving even for those who do not know his story. Our GPS took us to the carpark and it took us a moment to find the statue further around the back of the buildings. Loved the dog tags replicated in the ground.
