Drivers are too fast going through a 15 mph park. Is there a way to slow it down?Maybe some police which is rarely seen or a flashing speed sign.

... because of the time of year. I'm always looking for different places to hike and picked this park arbitrarily. There's not really much to see here as is with most parks. It's named Riverview and supposed to have a view of the Ohio River, but I couldn't see it from anywhere. There is an old observatory at the park's high point, which is an interesting looking building. It's got a serious history evidently with a scientist/astronomer named Samuel Langley back in the day. On one of the signs outside it says that 40% of all known star distances were determined here which sounds pretty significant to me. I would have liked to have checked out what it looks like inside, but that'll never happen I guess. The observatory's website says they have tours but I'm sure not these days. And I'm hoping to be long gone before they do again. Yeah other than this place, it's a fairly generic park. Looks like there's a public pool that's probably a great place to come to in the summer if you're a kid. They got a bunch of short doable trails to get your hike in if that's your thing like me. The trailheads are marked well but the trails itself seem to be unmarked - well trodden though. I might come back in the spring see how the place looks when it's green if I'm not somewhere else.

We arrived at park at about 11:00 AM and were told that part of the park would be closed for filming of the Netflex series Mindhunters. We had to find parking on the street outside the park it was a nice street with older homes. We were disappointed that we could not go to the Allegheny Observatory. We were able to hike the trails in the wooded part of the park. The trails were easy to moderate the day was cool and it was cooler in the woods. We enjoyed the hike, their were not many people on the trails. The other visitors in the park and the staff we came in contact with seamed friendly. The only negative the trails could be marked more clearly, but it would be hard to get lost in the park. It was a nice experience in a park in the City of Pittsburgh.
