Situated at a height of 2,330 feet (710.18 meters), Dobbins Lookout towers above the picturesque environs of South Mountain Park. A winding hiking trail leads up to the summit, which serves as a spectacular vantage point to witness unobstructed views of the valley. If you are an adventure seeker, hike up the trail and witness remarkable views of the surrounding mountain ranges on your way to the top. Alternately, you can drive to the lookout via Summit Road, which also has surreal views to offer.

tripadvisorThis was our first stop after getting our rental car in Phoenix. It is well worth the drive up all the winding roads to get to the awesome views. You can see the city of Phoenix and all the different mountains around it.Pretty cool !!
Moreabsolutely awesome, the ride up AND down is a little touchy,,but still very beautiful ,,,the look out was amazing but quite busy , which takes away the experience ,,to many people and they are ALL quite rude and think they own the ground you are on ,,just b.s the way people can be
MoreIf you are looking for that perfect blend of rugged adventure and postcard-worthy serenity, this is the spot. Whether you’re a local regular or a first-timer, there is something about the air up here that just hits different.
MoreWe were staying at a friends house and they recommended a drive up here, which was easy in the Jeep Rubicon that we'd hired. The drive up is very winding, so if you are an unsure driver, then have someone else do that part of the trip. There are a few places to stop on the ascent but the best place to lose yourself is as the top. Luckily for us it was very quiet when we arrived and we spent about an hour taking in the scenery and relaxing.
MoreGate hours are 5 am to 7 pm. You can stay up there til 11 pm but you have to get inside before they close the gate at the bottom of the mountain
