This is for The DMV, currently playing at the Marsh in SF. I am so glad I went, and even more glad that I went this (election) week as I needed something smart, vulnerable and humanizing. Reed weaves together the stories of several different people with the unifying premise of visiting the DMV. It's an excellent set up and the characters are all people you know, but not reduced to caricature. It sounds cliched to say it, but the show has it all -- humor, gravitas, and insight. See it soon as I believe only a few shows are left.

Robert Townsend's Living the Shuffle offers a rare opportunity to see a Hollywood legend in a solo performance. It's currently at the Marsh in Berkeley, and headed for Broadway. He's hilarious and poignant. The Marsh has a venue in San Francisco also. Catch Don Reed and Danny Hoyle, as well as other talented solo performers, in an intimate setting.

We went to a comedy show here and the theater worked well. It's very simple, but intimate so you can easily see and hear the performance. Set in a very cool part of town and you can take transit here.

Dan Hoyle's one-man show is nothing short of excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in being informed about the many facets of immigration and life at the southern border.

Homegrown theater! This is the way it all starts where superstars are born. Great to see local talent strut their wares. Attended Will Durst political humor show all about about Donald Trump(DT) days in office. Will was very entertaining, spot on in analogies and very funny but, truly the audience reactions that stole this show! I did expect DT bashing by Will but, the audience hatred, name calling, jaring negativism and simple hatred displayed seemed more like a Hillary rally. I guess I was in over my head, just thinking I was going to be entertained and not join a movement.
