My teenage sons enjoyed the quick 10-min. walk from West Side Market to see this site. The bridge also goes over a train track.

Being a fan of art deco, I was desperate to see these up close. They did not disappoint. Absolutely incredible. The hardest part was finding a place to park so I could walk over. If you choose to do so, here is my recommendation: There is a parking lot across from the Cleveland script sign and under the bridge on Abbey Avenue. (You can enter 1351 or 1429 Abbey Avenue into the GPS.) From there it is about a .7 mile walk to get to Hope Memorial Bridge. You walk across the bridge on Abbey Avenue, go down a side street, and then climb a metal staircase. This brings you out right at Hope Memorial Bridge. To walk all the way across to the other end of the bridge (to see the other statutes) would add about .4 of a mile. I did this and it was about 2.25 miles round trip from my car. It made all the difference getting to see these up close as opposed to driving by in a car.

Although a rainy day and not able to walk the bridge, I took this picture. It is close to the Westside Market, too. Google it's history....interesting.

There are some of the best views of Cleveland from this bridge which is why so many love to walk it. However, I would not have even known about this bridge except planning this trip I was surprised the baseball team was no longer the Indians. I could not understand why they chose Guardians until I saw this bridge. The bridge which lands at the foot of Progressive (Jacobs) Field, is guarded by 4 Art Deco statues which are the Guardians of transportation, each holding a different form of transportation. The Guardians are impressive when you are driving but especially when you walk under them. It is a really cool bridge.Bonus of the bridge is you get to see the Cuyahoga River in a really sharp bend which I am told is where the river caught fire. Great views and great pictures.

The bridge has a great pedestrian walkway with views of the city. The Guardians are phenomenal works of art and need to be seen in person. Park at Westside Market and walk across. Also visit Westside Market.
