This is a great little county museum right next to the Courthouse, friendly folks inside to answer questions. Lots of local history and if you enjoy learning about the places you travel to, this is a must do. It's small, won't take long, but lots of interesting artifacts and info here. They're only only a few hours on a few days, so time your visit accordingly: Sunday - Wednesday: ClosedOpen Thursday - Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PMYou can buy some very cool horned toad jewelry, t-shirts and all is VERY reasonably priced! I wish now I'd picked up one of their $10 t-shirts, lol.

We went to town to see Old Rip then went across the street to the museum. First, it’s in this beautiful grand old building. Look up. They don’t make them like that anymore. We were greeted by Tim, who gave us the grand tour. He was so knowledgeable about the town and its history. We really enjoyed meeting him. No Old Rip Merch, but Tim promised he would work on getting them some for us next time. Stop by if you’re in town and don’t miss Texas Legend Old Rip the Miracle Horned Toad at the Courthouse.

The Eastland County Museum is a great place to stop to learn about the history of the city. It is small but has worth popping in for a visit. You'll find nice displays and volunteer docents that know the area.

We just thought we would pop in s kill s few mins , but spent probably an hour . It is small and we were the only people in there , they have lovely old pics of the old eastland and what a thriving town it used to be .

Nice place to see how the area has progressed, but not as large or in depth as I thought it would be, but that maybe due to lack of funding. Nice people, volunteers I assume working there.
