If you're a walker/runner this is one of the races you want to do. Yes it's crowded but what do to expect with the largest 15k in the country. It is well organized with different waves for different paces. Typically, the slower runners stay on the outside but not always the case. Every runner is different and react different when they are in the zone. I love the people in the community . They are cheering you on and some Even hand out goodies.ie drinks food. There is a bridge in the beginning and the hart bridge at the end. I have done this race for 10+ years and hope to be able to do it for many more.

The 15k Gate run was my first time running a race in 30 years... It was a really great experience. I apprehended it since it was my first race. People were incredibly nice, registration was super easy. The course was interesting even though the weather was fairly cold and windy. They had live bands and water station every mile. It was very lively. They kept it low key and fun. The last bridge is quiet an experience: tough climb with strong headwind, then just cruising down to the finish line. I ended up running under 11’ mile average which is way better than I expected. Overall very thankful for this well run event during Covid times.

This was an awesome run! You run over 2 big bridges , bands are playing about 1 every mile! Huge race with over 15,000 runners! Received a medal a shirt and a glass for entry fee! If you finish in top 10% you also get a hat. If you're a runner it's worth doing once!

The Gate River run is a huge event each year in Jacksonville. Thousands of people turn out to run, walk and to cheer.

Too many out of shape I am gonna run/walk a marathon wannabes go home train and come back when you can compete. This a marathon not a moronathon.
