Congested traffic at the beginning of the bridge specially from the Oregon side. Nice view with the river

We were on our way to Seattle, so drove across the interstate bridge from Portland. The drive can either be sluggish if traffic, or fine if not. There are some views.

This bridge is partly Oregon and the other side is partly Vancouver. It works through a vertical lift bridge. It was built in 1917. I liked that bridge. It was turning and eventually the bridge was straight. We could see Oregon and Vancouver at the same time. Cool! Worthwhile to see!

Vancouver needs a new bridge thats for sure! too many people for a 2 lane interstate bridge!!! stay away from this bridge during the week days between 6am and 6pm its a traffic nightmare!

I would suspect that this bridge was not built to serve the amount of traffic that now crosses the bridge each hour. This can cause back-up and a nightmare for anyone who does not enjoy bridges in the first place. If the drives would slow down a bit and be more courteous it would be a more pleasant passage from one state to the other.
