tripadvisorI walked with my adult daughter and our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed the views of the prairie. We saw joggers, bike riders, other dog walkers, falcons and prairie dogs. It was peaceful, serene. Parking is free. We’ll be returning for more.
MoreWonderful to bike through always, beautiful to walk through any time but dead summer. Check out the bike paths that run through here all the way into old town. Get a bike map and enjoy this family friendly biking/walking path that runs from here and all the way around town. In sping/ early summer the birds and greenery and flowers . . . just heavenly with lovely spots to stop and sit. Just beware, no trees, just prairie, so don't plan on shade in summer. And beware the ocassional rattle snake on the path (why I prefer to bike it).
MoreRode through a portion of the Natural Area and it was worth it, for certain. The walkway kind of winds through plain in a pleasant manner that allows for a real feel of how The Front Range looked 150 years ago. The only reason for four stars is that the walk is completely exposed to the elements. Though understandable, it takes a while to get through and we could have used just a touch of shade.
MoreMy primary advice would be to decide whether to not to bike/ride this area is to look at the TripAdvisor photos. It is a very open, treeless space that was a couple miles of peaceful walking on a pristine, wide paved trail. Very pretty.
MoreOne of the most unique trails in Fort Collins for the assortment of birds, raptors and variety of plants. Its busy at times, but the scenery is mind-blowing quiet and very enjoyable.
