A quick visit as temps and humidity in the high 90s on this early September Labor Day weekend afternoon. Stopping by a number of Chickamauga historic sites on our trip back home from Chattanooga. Beautiful park area in downtown Chickamauga with lots of shade trees and picnic areas including what appeared to be a brand new covered pavilion. Truly spring fed as the water was crystal clear although I can't say I saw any crawfish. Very historic area used as a field hospital by both Northern and Southern troops during the Chattanooga/Chickamauga battles.

This is a nice city park for walking and sitting. There is good historical signage, as well. The town of Chickamauga has interesting historical sights.

Just a short downhill walk < 1 minutes from road. Cool springs a nice place to sit and relax a few minutes. Nothing really to do here but nice to walk to and see when walking around town.

This beautiful area is located just outside downtown Chickamauga, GA. The amphitheater overlooks peaceful rolling streams with beautiful trees and nature surrounding. The town itself is so quaint and has much to offer. I am so glad I wandered off the beaten path to take in a priceless piece of Americana.
