This beach looks lovely from the Bluff and the bike/walking path, but it is filthy - and I walked a mile down from Alamitos and into Junipero. It was so disappointing. So much trash on the beach, no shore birds- just annoying pigeons.

Disappointing. Not even any shorebirds to speak of. So dirty I was afraid to remove my shoes to walk on the sand. Very sad because it is a beautiful beach in every other respect.

Very disappointed. The beach was very dirty. Trash, homeless people. Would not recommend. Don't take your shoes off!! Needles everywhere.

We live close by and enjoy the paths (one fast for bikes, one slow for walkers) a lot. Unfortunately, there are two rivers that dump tons of plastic trash into the ocean that wash up along the beaches here. I have resorted to spending a few hours a week collecting needles, tampons, straws etc with a picker and get at least 60 lbs in a 100 yard stretch. I can't believe we can't figure out a solution to filter the storm water from contaminating the ocean. It's terribly sad. Reach down in the water and grab a handful of trash! It's everywhere!

not recommend to visit now, after looting and riots the city become little dangerous. We have some kind of people that not follow any laws.. Every night sound now like war area do illegal fireworks. Been going on for weeks and did not see the city doing anything :~(
