Spent half the day Mustang Beach which was so serene and beautiful. It was very clean compared to Corpus Christi Beach which had tons of trash in the water. Drive to the Island north of Mustang Beach and enjoyed it. Lots to see and do. Souvenir shops, art, and FOOD! Stopped at a Souvenir Shop with the BIG Shark you can walk in and take advantage of a cool photo opportunity with the kids. They had a variety of things with prices that can fit your budget. Afterwards, we went to a snowcone stand across the street (and next to a liquor store) and met the owner who was 30 minutes from our home town. He was a very sweet Christian man with quite a testimony and played Christian music. He said that was where God put him and I believe it. His stand and picnic table was very clean and sanitized. You could smell the clean. I also learned that his mama started the biggest sand castle competition which continues annually. loved our visit. Lots of little buggies in the streets. Very cool!

This is a gorgeous beach, all of Mustang island from the South Jetty where we watched dolphins play in front of big ships coming and going, to beach access roads. You have to get off highway 361 to see ocean beaches, waves, shore birds, dunes,... it's also very family friendly.

It’s misleading when call it ‘scenic drive’. You don’t see much beside the 2 lanes road, empty open fields, some nice houses/communities along the way. It’s a nice drive though. When you get to the end/the loop, Port Aransas, there’s a little cute beach town.If you want to see the ocean, you have to go into the ‘beach access roads’, from there, you can drive along the beach, on the sand. It’s wonderful. But you should have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, otherwise you may get stuck if the sand is too soft.I see people complain about the jellyfish. I didn’t encounter any. Not sure because of the season, or the beaches we went in. I would choose Corpus Christi beaches over Galveston’s
