This is a smoothly-paved and safe trail with pastoral views once you get outside of downtown Lexington. However, there is very limited (no?) directional signage. This is especially problematic in places where the trail intersects with other paved trails. In two such instances staying on the Legacy Trail required a counterintuitive 90 degree turn onto another paved trail rather than continuing straight on what appeared to be the existing trail. In fact, I didn't even see the 90 degree turnoffs in either case and ended up at a dead end and had to backtrack after a few miles in one case and at the back of the Horse Park (not bad!) in the other. The City of Lexington could significantly enhance the trail experience for out-of-towners who are unfamiliar with the trail by including directional signage, especially at trail intersections.

I bike here with grandkids and feel very safe and away from traffic. Views are pretty awesome. A fun place for young and old.

We were staying near the trail at the Marriott on Newtown Pike. Only mistake we made was going into the city instead of heading out to the horse farms. It was very pretty until we got close to the Y, and then we realized we went the wrong way. We ended up going back and going the correct way but ran out of time. Definitely recommend this trail. What a treasure for the city and for the visitors!

The trees are grown compared to 11 years ago. I have been going this trail and it's better each year. You can bring entire family for outdoor activities.

Stops and starts too much, and too close to busy traffic.May be good for experienced bike riders. Not good for walking.
