tripadvisorGreat space for seeing Austin along the Colorado river, we entered near city hall, there was quite a it of garbage and weeds that needed tending to. Lots of joggers and cyclists on the trail. Found Stevie Tay Vaughn too
MoreWe took our three kids (13, 11 and 7) on this six mile hike, unsure how they would do. It proved to be tough but doable! We were so proud of them for hanging in there - all those steps were not easy. The trail was mostly shaded and well kept. We went on a random Wednesday, so it was pretty quiet.
MoreWe love to hike but haven't been on the trails in quite a while. I'm reasonably fit thanks to regular Pilates, but not the greatest cardio capacity. However, I managed the trail just fine by pacing myself on the ascending stretches. The nice thing about this trail is it has a good mix of ups, downs and flat-ish spots - so there was plenty of time to recover from a long up-hill stretch while keeping forward progress along the trail. We enjoyed the hike on a very sunny day and stayed pretty cool thanks to so much shade throughout.
MoreWhat a hike! 2736 steps and stairs. I would recomend I starting at the bottom where the pond is and hiking to the top then back doen. It is 6 miles roudn trip but worth it! The views are great and the creak is cool to see as you hike.
MoreDownload the AllTrails App and follow the recording for an easy to use guide. This trail is probably the best and most challenging trail Austin has to offer. Still great for all ages and accessible year round. Great way to get some good old nature. Enjoy.
