Did a solo hike to these lakes. Absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend. Didnt come across bears or any wildlife for that matter.

Hiked there in mid-September, was a rainy day so lot of puddles. Waterproof hiking boots and rain ponchos required. Great hike (11+ miles out and back) but the boulder field at the end is challenging.

Just arrived 1240 Sept 5. Half the cars in the lot have front windows shot up by pellets. Brassy looking slivers on windshields that look like maybe someone walked along cars shooting an automatic bb gun, since each window had been shot several times. I reported this to Park headquarters and police. I hope they catch the criminal. Otherwise the 13 mile hike to eagle lake was beautiful and saw a bear on the far ridge. Many berry plants! Black crowberries on pine looking groundcover. Red high bush cranberries tasted good. Some blueberries. Red bunchberries with red leaves. Red fireweed. Spires seeding. Bluebells. Linginberries. I would give 5 stars but need to know if this shooting was solved. Thanks!

If you have the stamina, this trail is gorgeous. It’s long (12 miles round trip if you walk all the way to the edge of Symphony Lake) and has some steep sections. It’s totally worth it and can be done in a day. Be prepared to spend about an hour climbing through a boulder field if you don’t stop at the outflow of Eagle Lake. Good hiking boots or shoes and plenty of water are a must.

One of our favorite places to hike. We always bring our dog. Definitely be bear and wildlife aware! The rocks at the end can be tough for dogs so know your own pet.
