tripadvisorThis exhibit outlined the life of Picasso using drawings throughout. It was free and in the welcome center. There is a gift shop with reasonable prices and restrooms.
MoreWell, it was not all that special and the works were narrowed so much that we really could have seen one or two pieces and it would have been representative of all the pieces there. It is near the end of the exhibit and the entrance fee was slashed in half and that did make a difference. It is one of those days when the tee-shirt at the museum shop is as exciting as the exhibit itself. I gave it three stars instead of two because of the reduced rate. The docent was somewhat informed, but she had a whiny voice and was having a hard time keeping her little group together....In the long run I am glad that I went to see it, but it was very narrowly focused on his obsession with bulls and other that being transported from Spain, there was little to see. Since St. Augustine is celebrating 450 years of being the first city on the continent, i suppose the spanish art was sort of a fit.
MoreIf you love Picasso , this is a must see ! Small exhibit focused on his bullfighting artwork , docents are knowledgeable and not pushy, Very clean area , $10 for adults , can't beat that . ( well actually , yes you can if you are a teacher !) Great town with lots to see after you leave the exhibit .
