I grew up in Lawrenceville and I was at this park almost daily. There was a lot more activity back then, from girls soft ball games (girls teams were made up of St Francis Hsp, West Penn Hsp, Alcoa, USSteel employees ect) who played softball every Teusday evening, also the Pittsburgh Symphony around the large pond, men's horse shoes, July 4th hugh all day doings, ice skating on the pond and sled riding in the winter, dog shows, tennis, boys little league and big boy baseball games. It was a wonderful childhood and Arsenal Park was a gem for all us many, many kids in the neighborhood. There are nice activities currently, from art shows, pizza parties, flea market. Its still a gem.

Bring your camera and a love of history! Every season allows for different views. Nice walk, with a little hike! Great for the whole family.
