tripadvisorI went on a Saturday afternoon/evening. I jogged on the trail portion just north of downtown, and the portion next to Trinity Park (under the Lancaster Avenue Bridge). The north-of-downtown portion is nice and quiet, there weren't too many people there. There's a bike path and pedestrian path. Very beautiful views of the Forth Worth skyline, and especially nice because it is fall, and you can see the leaves changing color. There's a drive in theater along the trail, and also a nice brewery (Panther Island Brewing) if you get off the trail and walk for about 15 minutes. I parked for free elsewhere and walked to this park, but if you want to use the park's lot then you'll have to pay (not sure how much it is, I didn't look). The Trinity Park/Lancaster avenue portion is a bit south downstream. Parking along the street is free. There's more people but it wasn't terribly crowded when I went. It's a great place to watch the sun set, and there's a very nice pedestrian bridge where you can get some good views. There's also a waterfall where you can climb down and get close to the water. Just be careful not to slip and fall. The only downside to going in the evening is that there's a bunch of gnats, so make sure to keep your mouth closed when biking/jogging and clean off your shirt before getting in your car so you don't have bug corpses all over your seat!
MoreThis review concerns the Forth Worth Branch of the Trinity River Trails System which might not be the same precise location but I think it is part of the same trail system. (I was a 2-day visitor so I dont know the entire layout.) Anyhow, it runs on the north side of the Clear Fork Trinity River across from downtown FW and into the Trinity Park area. The trail features foot bridges across the river at a couple of spots and wide, paved and gravel pathways suitable for walking, jogging, bike riding, pushing a stroller, or whatever. The area is a wide green belt, lightly wooded, with more tree coverage in the park proper. The trail on the north side of the river is generally unlit so if you are jogging outside daytime hours consider wearing a head light. The trail on the city side of the river is pretty well lit from streetlights on Forest Park Blvd. There are some gentle grades to get from street bridges down into the river valley. It provides a nice feature for downtown FW.
MoreIt very cool and liked place.County people are so kind . I liked this place. Roads are cleaned. Nice green zone area.
MoreThis is an excellent trail to walk or ride through. Wide, paved, lot's of small hills, turns, trees, and places to sit and relax.
MoreThis trail will definitely give you a workout. It's not totally flat which changes it up a bit from just riding on the street. The picture with this review was taken at the section of the trail that runs through the Fort Worth Stockyards. Jagged rocks on one side and a winding river on the other side definitely make for an interesting ride.
