I usually wait until JULY when the water lilies are blooming., It’s a very peaceful & beautiful site. There are also a lot of songbirds in the area that come to the lake. They are beautiful to hear.

Noticed that the Lilly Lake is in bloom. They are really full this year. Nice two mile walk around the lake or sit and watch the geese. Nice picnic area.

Beautiful spot and history lesson, too. Signs inform along the route. Free parking and nice spot for walk or job.

The Lillies have barely started as it is early for them but the pond still has something to offer. I stopped to enjoy my time watching the Canadian Geese with their goslings. There were several pair with varying age of goslings. As with all little ones it is fun to watch the trouble they can cause their parents. There is a path around the pond for those wanting to stretch their legs. I don't remember if it is paved all the way but is paved at least half way and is a nice bike or hike. Less than a mile. I did not hike all the way around this time but it does make for a relaxing stroll. This is Iowa and it can be hot and humid I was there in the morning the other time may be to go in the evening. Along the path there are a few benches. Be careful if you cross the highway as the speed limit is 45 MPH and you don't want to be crossing when Amana Refrigeration Plant has a shift change.
