tripadvisorWe were there on a day that the Idaho Fish and Game were providing school children (a large number from what I could tell) with rods, reels, and bait to fish with. This is so great! There were dozens of kids fishing from the bank and the fishing docks. This s a real interesting park of ponds that border the Boise River. There is a sandy beach for swimming (not open when we were there). Lots of walking paths.
MoreEsther Simplot Park is a fantastic place for kids to swim, walk, and enjoy water rentals, but the logistics can be a headache. It’s a beautiful spot once you’re actually in the water, but the traffic and parking situation is rough. The lot fills up so fast that we’ve often had to park several blocks away and trek in with all our gear. While the park itself is a 5-star experience for a family day out, the congestion and lack of nearby parking make it a bit of a project to visit. It’s worth the trip for the amenities, just be prepared for a long walk and a lot of crowds!
MoreThis is a whitewater park. It is cool to watch enthusiasts do what they love. It is worth the trip to check it out.
MoreOther than all the goose droppings, this is a very nice park. Kids and adults alike will enjoy spending time here.
MoreA great job was done building this park. I remember when it was a weed filled lot. A lot of work was done to build it, and now it’s a wonderful park for everyone.
