I come every Saturday but when my car was broken into this weekend, I was shocked to learn this is rampant here. I found glass from 2 other cars in the trash can/parking lot. Every neighbor I spoke to seem to accept it was common knowledge for this park. NO SIGNS are POSTED at all to warn visitors. It's a nice neighborhood so I was less vigilant than I should have been (hindsight). However park management could post signs for guests or install parking lot cameras (even dummy cameras are a VERY cheap option). They could work with local law enforcement or ANYTHING to educate or protect guests from the widespread car break-ins. The park itself is lovely, but the crime in the parking lot needs to be addressed.

East end is perfect for hiking, running, or biking. Be careful if it rains a lot because some areas may flood. Also beware if you are a female and alone at night. It feels safe, but it’s very large and forested.

I went for an early morning walk just after sunrise. Hadn't been in a couple of years. They have enlarged the parking lot although with the recent winter rain there were some huge muddy potholes that need to be filled in. Walked through the big meadow, a bit of frost on the ground. Then down along the raised platform walkway. Some boards are rotting so be careful, I am sure they will be fixed soon. When I got to the trail along the water I was amazed at the destruction from Hurricane Harvey and the surge of water it produced. Huge trees knocked down, lots of little ones bent to the ground. Sand piles everywhere. Sad to see but it will come back.

Beautiful setting. Great place for walks. The mosquito will eat you alive so take spray and watch for snakes, it is a natural setting.

Another favorite of my granddaughter she asks to go there. She just enjoys going out to the park, I don't think she gets to go to a park often. It is free and normally well maintained, the wooden bridges are great. We usually go about once a month except on cold days in the winter .
