The trail was ok not beautiful. Dangerous uneven footing - sand, pebbles. Trail really need markers. Please take headlamps if viewing sunsets.

While most people jump to the end to talk about the view, this review is about the way there. The first 2 miles are on a paved, uphill, sundrenched, boring fire road with not much to look at. Once you get to the real trailhead, you have to figure out on your own to take the first left as signs are non existent. From there it is a grueling, brutal climb uphill on a narrow rocky trail wide enough for one person with nothing but the valley and the creek bed to look at. Only when you finally get to the top that you get a view (assuming it is not foggy or cloudy over Santa Barbara.) For some odd reason this trail gets all the publicity. There are much nicer hikes around the area. On a sunny day, take the cliff hike at the Douglass Preserve with amazing views of the ocean ands beach way down there. It is not much of a workout but nothing beats the ocean view.

Worth the hike. Bring water with you and dress in layers. he trails are not well marked. The easy hike, was more like moderate for us, but still worth the incredible views.

We initially came here for the Seven Falls hike. Parking was crazy. We had to turn around and park down the road off to the side as on the weekend, this location was crowded. Our hike thus started with a 20 minute walk from parking spot to the trail head. The first part of the hike was on an asphalt road, not my favorite. But after maybe 20 more minutes, we were on a proper trail. Turns out that the path to Seven Falls isn’t marked here. When you get to the creek area, you would actually go to the right and scramble up that hill for a path to seven falls. We instead kept making our way on what seemed to be the main trail, arriving ultimately at Inspiration Point. We had beautiful views of the ocean from this location. Gnats were also in full force up at this vista point. Overall, we spent close to three hours to hike to this point and back. Enjoyable hike. Moderate difficulty. Though we were almost the only folks with them, we would recommend trekking poles. Also pack a small lunch to enjoy on your midway point on this experience

The hike is worth it. The view is amazing at the top. The hike is rocky and steep in places. Wear good shoes with grip. Take pictures when you get to the top
